CHROMASCAPE 165
SUNRISE
This was a special morning for me in Santa Fe. The sun rose over a landscape that felt expansive and full of promise. I had just spent several days with an artist friend in Santa Fe, meeting with other artists, touring their studios, visiting galleries and museums, and, of course, eating amazing food. I was also incredibly fortunate to share my Chromascape portfolio with the owners of several prominent art galleries on Canyon Road. Ultimately, this led to being represented by Globe Fine Art Gallery.
I made this image on the last day of this magical trip. The soft pinks and blues of sunrise stretched over the sparse desert, with the distant silhouette of the Santa Fe National Forest on the horizon. What strikes me about this image is that the structure is looser and less defined than most of my work. It's more about the beauty of the place and the anticipation that comes with a new day—a feeling that leaves room for possibility and the wonder of the unknown. This is Chromascape 165. ~ Marc
