I was traveling to Steamboat Springs to help a friend hang her solo show at the Depot Art Gallery. As I approached the town on a clear autumn afternoon, I was drawn to the incredible golden light sweeping across the landscape. It illuminated the dried field grasses and lifted my gaze to the brilliant fall aspens blanketing the hillside of Mount Werner, whose slopes have shaped the character and livelihood of Steamboat for generations.

I made this image to honor that moment: the fields, the trees, and the mountain, all bathed in the warm, late-day glow. Chromascape 168 reflects the quiet beauty of Steamboat, where nature and community thrive together. ~ Marc
