CHROMASCAPE 169
FIRST LIGHT ON WOLFORD RESERVOIR
I made this image at Wolford Reservoir, just outside Kremmling, Colorado. It was early in the morning, shortly after daybreak, when I came upon this scene. I stopped here simply to enjoy a quiet moment—to reflect, find my center, and receive the peace that being near water brings.
I've always been drawn to water. It's elemental in my life and often integral to my art.
Here in the morning light, diffused by a slightly overcast sky, the cool blues and greens of the surrounding hills were reflected in the gentle ripples of the water, and I felt a quiet sense of peace wash over me. My intention in abstracting this scene was to distill the landscape to the elemental movement of those soothing colors across the water so I might share the peace and tranquility of that morning with others. This is Chromascape 169. ~ Marc
