My good friend and amazing artist, Jennifer Hohlfelder, often visits Venice Beach and sketches beach scenes that she later paints in her studio. I love the way her work feels like a wonderful memory of a best day, a quiet moment, a relaxing afternoon, and a favorite place or activity. Jennifer has painted the iconic light blue life guard towers several times over the years and they have always reminded me of visiting the beach as a kid in SoCal. So on my trip through California this January, I purposefully went to the beach one morning to make a Chromascape of one of these life guard towers as a homage to Jennifer's timeless paintings. Chromascape 170 is applying my artistic technique to one of these iconic towers and beaches. ~ Marc
