Just before the sun crested the horizon, a heavy marine layer settled across San Francisco Bay, obscuring the familiar skyline. San Francisco, the East Bay, and the Bay Bridge hadn't disappeared—they were simply veiled. For a few quiet moments, the bay became less about the places surrounding it and more about the simple relationship between water, sky, and light.

The colors that morning were extraordinary. The eastern sky glowed with warm peach and gold while a brilliant ribbon of pink stretched across the horizon, separating sea from sky. At my feet, gentle waves rippled against the unseen breakwater, reflecting the magnificent colors above.
