Nederland, CO
I’ve lived in Nederland, a small town perched at 8200’ in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, since leaving NYC in 2006. In Ned, I’ve raised my kids, built my dream home, experienced endless beauty and inspiration in the ever changing skies, lost and found myself in nature, had epic ski days and blown out my knees ski days, survived grief and loss, and found my gratitude for life, love, family, friendship, community, hope, and the joy of making my art. Nederland has been one of the places I worked to solve many of the technical challenges of my Chromascape process. It is also the location of my studio. This is where I edit my images and craft each edition print.
The Chromascapes in this series were made on Barker Reservoir or at Los Lagos under varied skies and shifting seasons. All of these images feature water as a significant structural and visual component. I love how water doubles and blends the reflected colors and features of the sky and light in a scene.
Stories and details about each Chromascape can be found by clicking on the “Image Info” button while in Lightbox View.
